How Does it Differ From the Previous Smok R- Kiss Mod?

Released four years apart, Smok didn’t push out the boat of creativity too much between the original Smok R-Kiss and the new Smok R-Kiss 2. The TFV Mini V2 Tank is used for both mods, both power up to 200W for huge clouds of vapour, and the new device only weighs four grams less.

The original R-Kiss was nice to hold but the smooth texture is not as pleasant to vape regularly.

In terms of the coils, previously the R-Kiss used Baby V2 A1 and A2 coils of 0.17 Sub-Ohm and 0.2 Sub-Ohm. The new mini mesh coils are also available in a resistance of 0.33 Sub-Ohm as well as 0.15 Sub-Ohm and 0.2 Sub-Ohm.

The Look and Feel of the Smok R-Kiss 2

Any major difference lies in the design. Both have excellent build quality, as we have come to expect with Smok mods, but the R-Kiss 2 looks miles better with a honeycomb mesh design and a slight rubber texture. It’s very comfortable in the hand and very lightweight.

The two-tone colour pattern is a common feature with the top mod kits and the Smok R-Kiss 2 looks awesome. With a solid fire button frame on the side of the device, just like the previous device, it’s a cool design function that they’ve kept and is useful for vaping.

Also, the TFT display has been enhanced from the first model to an impressive 1.3-inch display, with different colour themes available within the menu to give it that extra jazz!

How is the Battery Life?

The battery life is fantastic for a Sub-Ohm mod (and is always a welcome feature for vapers) – simply because you need it! Because you go through more e-liquid at a faster rate due to its viscosity, you’ll need powerful batteries to support the performance levels.

With the Smok R-Kiss 2, the dual 18650s are great because you can recharge them and swap them out for a fresh pair whenever you need them. So, you don’t have to wait around for the charge, which typically takes longer than with a pod kit, because it requires more oomph!

Using the Smok R-Kiss 2 – Easy or Difficult?

For a Sub-Ohm mod that generates so much power and huge flavour performance, it’s very simple to use. This is great for those stepping up from pod kits who want more warmth and cloud volume.

Because there are only two modes, which are easy to navigate through the menu, its super straightforward design suits all levels.

Filling the tank with 2ml of e-liquid couldn’t be more routine thanks to the top of the tank which slides across like most Smok Sub-Ohm tanks, making filling effortless.

Plus, the combination of bypass mode and bottom-to-top airflow system means you can get richer and warmer vapour at a greater rate in ultra-quick time.

Quick Setup Guide

  1. To add batteries to the device, lift the battery door at the bottom of the Smok R-Kiss 2 and pop it into place.
  2. Press the button on the side of the tank to open up and add e-liquid via the top fill port.
  3. Insert the coil into the base of the tank.
  4. Five clicks of the fire button on the side panel to turn on the device and the same to turn off.
  5. Press the right button on the front panel to go up in 1W increments to a max of 200W, and one further press to round robin to 5W.
  6. Three clicks of the fire button to access the power menu where you can switch between wattage and bypass mode. Alternatively, you can lock the power and set it to your preferred setting.

Verdict

So, there you have it – an awesome upgrade that kicks out some serious cloud performance for a great price. While some Smok devices are known for their leaks, the bottom-to-top airflow design ensures leaks are kept to a minimum.

For passionate Sub-Ohm enthusiasts, this may not be the most exciting device, considering it lacks the customisable features of some other mods, but for those who seek big clouds and don’t require as much to do so, the Smok R-Kiss 2 is perfect; an easy to navigate, yet powerful vape mod.
